J&K Senior Women’s team on Sunday suffered second straight loss with Andra Pradesh humbling them by 7 wickets in a one-sided encounter in the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
Batting first, J&K posted an extremely below-par total of 88 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Although they lost only 3 wickets, the top-order batters showed no intent whatsoever, making it look like a multi-day match.
Anju Tomar, the guest player, faced 52 balls for her 38 while as Chitra Jamal also took 47 balls to score just 32. This is despite J&K having a lot of depth in the batting.
The lack of intent to score quick runs has been the major problem with J&K in all the matches so far and even in the past.
Andhra Pradesh, in response, chased down the 88-run total in just 15.5 overs with 7 wickets in hand. Skipper Sneha Deepthi made 16-ball 22 for them. For J&K, Sandhya took two wickets.
So far J&K has lost two and won one match in the tournament.
