Alcaraz Seals Year-End World No. 1 Ranking with Convincing Victory Over Musetti at ATP Finals

TURIN: Carlos Alcaraz has officially secured the year-end World No. 1 ranking for the second time in his career after producing a dominant 6-4, 6-1 win over Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti at the ATP Finals.

The straight-sets victory guarantees that the 22-year-old Spaniard will finish the 2025 season ahead of rival Jannik Sinner, reaffirming his position at the top of men’s tennis.

Following the match, Alcaraz reflected on achieving his long-held ambition, describing the milestone as one of the most meaningful accomplishments of his season.

“It means the world to me. Year-end No. 1 is always a goal,” Alcaraz said during his on-court interview. “From the middle of the season until now, I set my sights on the top spot, and finally, I got it.”

He also credited his team for their dedication and support throughout a year marked by both triumphs and challenges.

“It means everything — the work we put in every day, the ups and downs. I’m really proud of my team and myself.”

This is the second time Alcaraz has ended a season as the world’s top-ranked player. His first came in 2022, when he made history at age 19 as the youngest man ever to finish the year at No. 1.

The win keeps Alcaraz firmly on course for a semi-final berth at the ATP Finals, where he hopes to close out the year with a title that would further cement his status among the sport’s elite.

With another consistent, resilient, and high-achieving season behind him, Carlos Alcaraz has once again demonstrated why he remains one of tennis’ brightest and most dominant stars.
