Srinagar: Going with its executive committee decision of forming a normalisation committe for J&K Football Association (JKFA) , the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has formed 5-member ad hoc committee to manage the affairs of
the JKFA.

The committee has been formed in the backdrop of JKFA being without elected body since early 2022. AIFF had on April 7 in its executive committee meeting decided to bring JKFA back in order and form a committee that will hold the elections of the State football Association.
Going forward in that direction, AIFF has formed a 5-member committee headed by Justice (Retd.) Kailash Gambhir.

Sources told KSW that 5-member ad hoc committee will manage affairs of the JKFA till the elected body takes charge. The committee include member from Technical Committee of AIFF, Executice member of AIFF, member from legal background and a chartered account.

“Justice (Retd.) Kailash Gambhir (a former judge of the Delhi High Court and senior advocate), Chairperson. Neibou Sekhose (Member, AIFF Executive Committee and President, Nagaland Football Association), Member, Harjinder Singh (Deputy Chairman, AIFF Technical Committee and Hon. the Jammu & Kashmir Football Association,” Sources said.
Sources further said that J&K Sports Council has already been notified about the same and we will soon see the body taking charge of J&K Football Association.

Pertinetly AIFF Executive Committee had met at the Football House, New Delhi on Monday, April 7, 2025, to discuss various issues includng JKFA Elections and also the Master Rights Agreement (MRA) proposal given to the federation by Football Sports Development Ltd.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey had chaired the meeting, which was attended by Vice President NA Haris, Treasurer Kipa Ajay, Deputy Secretary General Satyanarayan M, along with members Arif Ali, GP Palguna, Lalnghinglova Hmar, Menla Ethenpa, Mohan Lal, Neibou Sekhose, Syed Husnain Naqvi, Syed Imtiaz Hussain, Valanka Alemao, Vijay Bali, Thongam Tababi Devi, Pinky Bompal Magar, Shabbir Ali,
Bhaichung Bhutia, and Climax Lawrence.

“The Executive Committee suggested that a Normalisation Committee be formed that will expedite the conduct of elections in the Jammu & Kashmir Football Association and the Tamil Nadu Football Association”, AIFF statement had said.

Before Executive Committee decision, AIFF President Kalyan Chuabey on a personal visit to Kashmir had held meetings with various stakeholders to sort out issues pertaining to JKFA elections.

The forming of ad hoc committee for managing JKFA affairs is step in right directions so that elections would be held and chaos surrounding J&K Football Association will be over.
