Abrar Ahmed likely to miss Pakistan’s first Test vs Australia

Srinagar: Pakistan have suffered a blow just before start of the Test series against Australia as young spinner Abrar Ahmed suffered injury during warm up Test against PM XI in Canberra.

Abrar complained of discomfort in his right leg after bowling eight overs on the third day and was taken off the field. He was sent for a MRI scan.

Abrar bowled a total of 27 overs in the game against Prime Minister’s XI.

Meanwhile ESPNcricinfo has reported that Abrar is unlikely to play first Test.

“While the extent of the injury is unclear, a recovery period that sees him available for the first Test, starting December 14, is believed to be “highly unrealistic”.
With his involvement in the remainder of the series not yet confirmed, the PCB is understood to be looking at alternatives,” ESPNcricinfo reported.
