Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced a pass-based entry system for spectators attending the Irani Cup match between Jammu & Kashmir and Rest of India at SK Stadium, Srinagar, with general public passes to be issued free of cost.
The prestigious match is scheduled to be played from October 1 to 5, 2026, and entry to the stadium will be regulated in view of its restricted seating capacity.
How can the general public get Irani Cup passes?
According to JKCA, passes for the general public will be issued free of cost on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability and the permitted seating capacity of the stadium.
A Pass Distribution Kiosk will be set up near the CRPF Gate (Gate D) for issuing daily passes to members of the public.
For the opening day’s play on October 1, passes will be distributed on September 30 between 1 PM and 4 PM.
For the remaining days, passes for the following day’s play will be issued at the end of each day’s play from the same kiosk near Gate D, subject to availability.
Is Aadhaar Card required?
Yes.
JKCA has stated that every person seeking a pass must produce/carry an Aadhaar Card for identification and issue of the pass.
The passes will also be non-transferable.
Which gate should spectators use?
Entry will depend on the colour/category of the pass issued to the spectator:
- Red Pass: Reserved — Gate A (Main Gate)
- Yellow Pass: School children — Gate B (opposite State Guest House)
- Green Pass: General public — Gate C (Amar Singh Club Entry)
- Blue Pass: General public — Gate D (CRPF Gate)
Spectators have been instructed to enter only through the gate corresponding to the colour/category of their pass.
Does having a pass guarantee entry?
No.
JKCA has specifically clarified that possession of a valid pass does not guarantee entry into the stadium.
Entry will remain subject to security clearance, compliance with entry regulations and the authorised seating capacity. Once the permitted capacity of a particular enclosure or the stadium is reached, entry may be stopped in the interest of safety and security, even for people holding valid passes.
What items are not allowed inside SK Stadium?
JKCA has prohibited spectators from carrying several items into the stadium, including:
- Food items
- Water bottles
- Flags and banners
- Firearms and weapons of any kind
- Knives
- Cameras
- Any other item prohibited or restricted by security authorities
Spectators have also been advised against carrying unnecessary bags or other articles.
Security checking and frisking will be carried out at the entry points.
What about parking?
Parking will also be regulated through passes.
Vehicles will only be permitted into the designated parking areas if they display a valid parking pass.
- Red Parking Pass: Entry through Gate A; parking inside JKCA premises near B Ground.
- Blue Parking Pass: Entry through Gate C; parking at Amar Singh Club.
Vehicles without valid Red or Blue Parking Passes will not be allowed into the designated parking areas.
