New York: Jake Paul has issued a bold and confident prediction ahead of his highly anticipated showdown with former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The pair will face off in a sanctioned boxing bout on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, a matchup that has sparked intense debate since the moment it was announced.
The fight has drawn criticism largely due to the stark contrast in size and experience. Joshua, a natural heavyweight, stands much taller and weighs significantly more than Paul, who has spent most of his boxing career competing at cruiserweight and is best known for bouts against ex-MMA fighters and veteran opponents such as 60-year-old Mike Tyson.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua is set to return to the ring for the first time since his September 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, a bout that left the British star injured and sidelined for months.
Most boxing experts expect the matchup to be a straightforward win for Joshua. But Jake Paul insists he cannot be knocked out and even predicts that he will secure a finish in the middle rounds.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Paul said:
“I don’t think he can knock me out because he’s not going to be able to line up his shots properly to land the hard punch.
I think it’s going to be a very tough fight for multiple rounds, but when I figure out his pacing, style, speed, and footwork, he’ll get tired chasing me.”
Paul added that once Joshua slows down, he plans to capitalize.
“I’m going to set up the shot. I’m not going to say exactly what, but I see what it is—and I think it will end in the fifth or sixth round.”
With Paul’s confidence sky-high and Joshua looking to reestablish himself after a lengthy layoff, their December clash is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events in boxing this year.
