District Srinagar Cycle Polo Championship Concludes

Srinagar, August 8: The District Srinagar Cycle Polo Championship 2026-27 concluded successfully on Saturday at Bagh-E-Waris Playfield, Srinagar, with around 150 boys and girls participating in the championship.

Shafkat Shafi, Manager, Bagh-E-Waris Playfield, was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Vilayat Hussain, President, and Sheikh Zulfikar Ali, General Secretary, J&K Cycle Polo Association, were the Guests of Honour.

The Chief Guest distributed trophies and medals among the winners and presented certificates to the participating players.

Before the championship commenced, coaches, managers and participants took a pledge against drugs, reaffirming their commitment to promoting a healthy and drug-free society through sports.

In the Boys Category, Oasis Club clinched the Gold Medal, while Legends Club secured Silver and VB Club won Bronze.

In the Girls Category, DPMS emerged as the Gold Medal winner, followed by VB Club with Silver and BHS A. Kadal with Bronze.

The championship was organised by the District Srinagar Cycle Polo Association under the aegis of the J&K Cycle Polo Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.

Speaking on the occasion, J&K Cycle Polo Association General Secretary Sheikh Zulfikar Ali said the next district-level championship would be held in Ganderbal, followed by championships in Pulwama and Budgam.

He expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour, participating teams, coaches, managers, officials and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the championship.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the General Secretary, who appreciated the cooperation and support extended by all stakeholders.
