Jasprit Bumrah Joins Shaheen Afridi in Elite Club With 100 Wickets Across Formats

CUTTACK: India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah added another major milestone to his illustrious career during the first T20I against South Africa on Tuesday, becoming the latest entrant into the elite 100-wickets-in-each-format club in international cricket.

Bumrah entered the match with 99 T20I wickets and reached the landmark by dismissing Dewald Brevis in the 10th over. With this achievement, the 30-year-old joined an exclusive list that includes Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi, Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga, New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan.

He is now the first Indian cricketer in history to claim 100 wickets each in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.

India Dominate South Africa in Series Opener

India produced a commanding performance at Barabati Stadium, defeating South Africa by 101 runs to go 1-0 up in the T20I series.

After setting a target of 176, the Men in Blue bowled out South Africa for just 74 in 12.3 overs, handing the visitors their lowest total ever in limited-overs cricket.

Hardik Pandya marked his return with a stellar all-round show, smashing an unbeaten 58 off 29 balls before picking up a wicket to complete India’s emphatic win.
