Captain Imran Haji’s all-round performance and support from Imran Khan with the bat and Suhail Rather with the ball led Bandipora Gymkhana to an 18-run victory against Kaloosa XI in the ongoing Altaf Memorial Tournament at SK Stadium, Bandipora.
Imran Haji first made 64 runs with the bat and then bowled a spell of 4-0-27-1. Imran Khan also scored unbeaten 48 to help Gymkhana post a competitive total of 164 runs on board. For Kaloosa XI, Furkan Bhat was pick of the bowlers, taking 1 wicket and giving only 18 runs in his 3 overs.
In reply, Suhail Rather’s brilliant opening spell rattled Kaloosa earlier on but Fahad led the recovery. The right-handed batter scored a magnificent 100 off 56 balls but couldn’t take his side home, thanks to some fine spin bowling by Imran Haji and Azhar Amin. Kaloosa ended up making 146-5 in the allotted 18 overs.
