Ranji Trophy: J&K almost knocks out Baroda, Mumbai likely to qualify

Srinagar: With Mumbai registering a huge win against Meghalaya and J&K putting up string performance against Baroda, it is most likely now that J&K and Mumbai will qualify for the knockouts of Ranji Trophy from Elite Group-A.

On Saturday Mumbai beat Meghalaya by an innings and 456 runs on to win the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Elite Group A match played at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai.

Shardul Thakur picked up four wickets in each innings to seal a big win for the defending champions in the must-win match.

A win by bonus point over Meghalaya in the seventh group-stage match has lifted Mumbai to 2nd position in the points table, and the Ajinkya Ranane-led side will qualify for the knockouts if Baroda fails to beat Jammu & Kashmir in the ongoing match at Reliance Cricket Stadium in Vadodara.

In that J&K vs Baroda match, J&K have already gained a massive lead of 258 runs vs Baroda. In second inning, J&K are 177/3 with a lead of 258 runs. Shubham Khajuria just got out on 94 runs.

J&K in first inning had scored 246 runs while as Baroda got all out for 166 run total.
