“Reports of BCCI’s removal of ‘Pakistan’s name’ from CT 2025 jerseys are false”

Srinagar: As per report The International Cricket Council (ICC) has refuted multiple reports claiming that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to remove the name of the host nation, Pakistan, from their jerseys for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

“It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule,” report quoted ICC official stating.

The ICC’s clarification follows reports from multiple reports alleging that the BCCI had decided to omit Pakistan’s name from Team India’s jerseys for the upcoming tournament.

The cricket council emphasised that any team failing to display the official logo on their jerseys would face strict action.

Traditionally, it is standard practice for teams participating in ICC tournaments to feature the host nation’s name as part of the tournament branding, even if some matches are held in different locations.

Report also quoted sources within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dismissing these claims as baseless, confirming that no official from the board has communicated with any Indian news agency regarding this matter.
