Srinagar: Lone Star Kashmir FC emerged winner in the first match of the Second Division I-League match against Sudeva Moonlight FC at New Delhi on Sunday.
In the match Kashmir FC defeated Sudeva Fc by 2-0 goals. Bilal Sofi and Aqib Javed were the scorers for Kashmir based side.
In the first half, Kashmir Fc scored one goal and were leading by 1-0 at half time. Bilal was the scorer, converting penalty into goal for his side. In the second half, Kashmir FC went on to double its lead as Aqib made it 2-0. Kashmir FC got couple of open net chances in the dyeing moments of the game. However, they failed to convert them into goal. Kashmir Fc won match by 2-0.
Union Sports Minister, Vijay Goel was chief guest on the occasion and met players of both teams at half time.
The Kashmir FC team is kit sponsored by Pick and Choose Super Market and also supported by J&K State Sports Council and J&K Football Association.
“We desperately wanted to win this match and we are really happy with the outcome,” said Kashmir Fc spokesperson.
“Our side is mostly filled with local players while as all other teams have strengthened their squad with foreigners. For them we are weak link in the group but for us our trust on local talent make us winner,” he said.
He said that without the support of Pick and Choose Super Market and also supported by J&K State Sports Council and J&K Football Association participation of Kashmir Fc in I-League this season would not have turned into reality.
