Srinagar: Continuing his brilliant form, Pakistan batting star Babar Azam delivered a match winning performance for Rangpur Riders vs Sylhet Strikers in the match of Bangladesh Premier League 2024 on Tuesday.
Chasing a meagre tartget of 120 runs, Rangpur were in trouble, being reduced to 39 for 6 before Babar formed a match winning partnership with Azmatullah Omarzai. The duo had a stand of 89 runs to take Rangpur to victory in 18.2 overs for the loss of six wickets.
Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 56 runs from 49 deliveries, including six boundaries, at a striking rate of 114.28. Azmatullah remained not out on 47 from 35.
Meanwhile earlier when Babar Azam came on to field both during fielding and batting, there was huge roar from fans. The whole stadium echoed with chants of Babar Babar. Also standout moment occurred when Babar Azam, stationed at the boundary, displayed remarkable athleticism by sprinting in, retrieving the ball, and executing a direct hit to dismiss Dushan Hemantha in the final over.
