Junior Wushu team for Nationals selected 

Srinagar: The Junior J&K Wushu team for the 22nd Junior National Wushu championship scheduled to be held at Patna from August 6 to 11 has been finalised.

The 3 Days selection trial concluded today at SKISC Srinagar, the selection committee finalised the final Junior UT J&K Wushu team for the 22nd Junior  National Wushu championship scheduled to be held at Patna from 6th to 11th August 2023. 

Almost more than 300 players from 16 Districts participated in the 03 days selection trial at SKISC stadium. 

The selection committee members headed by Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) along with members Maqsood rather, Kamal Kishore & Ajaz Hassan shortlisted the final team on the basis of the performances during the sparring. 

During the last edition of the Junior National, J&K Wushu team emerged as 2nd runner up and one player namely Ayeera Chist was selected for the 7th Junior World Wushu championship held at Indonesia and secured Bronze medal in the championship.

As per the handout of the Wushu Association of India, the medalist players will be shortlisted for the NCOE centres for the preparation of the Indian Junior Wushu team for the forthcoming Youth Olympic/world/Asian and Youth Asian Games.

The selection trial was held under the close supervision of the General secretary of the Wushu Association of J&K, Bhavneet. She congratulated all the selected players for the National championship and wished all the best for the event. 

The President Vijay Saraf also congratulated the team for the 22nd Junior National Wushu championship and expressed that this time the Junior Wushu team will emerge as winner of the event.
