Srinagar: Making it clear that there will be no change in the opening stand between the two him and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said that the duo will continue to open together in New Zealand series.
“There is no such plan currently to experiment [with the opening pair]. We will continue with my opening partnership with Rizwan. After that, we will decide which player is suitable for what number in the batting-order. We will announce the playing XI [for first T20I] after practice tonight,” Babar said in a pre-match press conference.
Babar also opened up about the possibility of playing the likes of Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris in the middle-order.
“The good thing about these youngsters is that they aren’t worried about their batting positions. All they say is tell us the plan what is required for the betterment of the team ,” he said.
The first T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on Friday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
