Srinagar: In a major surprise , former Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq has joined New Zealand squad as consultant ahead of a series against Pakistan.
“The announcement was made ahead of New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan, where they are set to play five T20s and five ODIs from mid-April,” Cricket Pakistan reported.
Saqlain Mushtaq was part of Pakistan squad as head coach till recently and the Pakistan Cricket Board is now roping in new coaching panel for the team.
Former head coach of the Pakistan team, Mickey Arthur, is set to be appointed as the consultant team director by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Grant Bradburn is likely to work as the assistant coach of the team. Former South African fast bowler, Morne Morkel, is expected to join as the bowling coach, while Andrew Puttick is set to work as the batting coach.
