Ranji Trophy: J&K bundle out for 191 in 1st innings


Srinagar, Dec 27: Vidharbha were 58/2 against Jammu and Kashmir’s modest total of 191 runs in the ongoing Ranji Trophy at VCA Stadium, Civil Lines, Nagpur today.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, J&K
lost their skipper and opener Shubham Khajuria on the very first ball of their innings. However, another opening batsman Suryansh Raina tried to consolidate the innings alongwith Henan Nazir, however, J&K lost second wicket at 43 runs in the form of Henan (17) in 16th over of the innings. J&K lost wickets at regular intervals and bundled out for 191 runs in 68 overs. Musaif Ajaz top scored with 41 runs off 95 balls, studded with 7 fours and one six, while Suryansh Raina contributed 30 runs off 54 balls with 6 boundaries. Umar Nazir was very much impressive with the bat in the tail, scoring 21 runs off 21 balls, studded with 3 fours and one six. Sahil Lotra (18), Vivrant Sharma (15) and Fazil Rashid (14) fell cheaply.
For Vidharbha, Y R Thakur took 4 wickets by conceding 40 runs in 14 overs, while AA Sarvate and Bhute bagged 3 wickets each.
In reply, Vidharbha were 58/2 in 21.1 overs at stumps on day-1 today.
Atharva Taide was at the crease on 24 runs, while A Mokhade (18) and YS Fazal (12) were the two batsmen dismissed.
For J&K, Right-arm medium pacer Umar Nazir and left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq claimed one wicket each.
