While some suggesting it was Khawaja’s fault while others said Smith wasn’t clear enough.

Smith, the former Australia skipper, even fumed at his partner over the run-out incident, the video of which has gone viral and discussed on social media.

Smith was batting on six when the ball struck him on the pads and rebounded towards a vacant area on the off-side. Smith himself initially said no before gesturing for Khawaja to come for a single. Khawaja’s response also seemed to have been affirmative but he changed his mind later on.

By the time Khawaja pulled himself back, Smith had already come halfway down the crease. He tried to return in time, but the effort went in vain.

Furious with the development, Smith was seen raising his arms, angry at Khawaja for sending him back. Though it does seem like a part of the fault lies with Khawaja, many fans weren’t pleased with Smith’s reaction.
