Srinagar: In the ongoing England vs New Zealand Test match, commentator on record termed Pakistan cricket team skipper as Big one when there is talk about Big four.
Former New Zealand pacer turned commentator Simon Doull praised Babar Azam during commentary in the ongoing third Test between England and New Zealand.
Doull rated Babar as the best top-order batter among his contemporaries and added that he is currently the ‘Big One’ at the moment.
“Not sure many can argue that Babar Azam is probably the best player in the world at the moment as far as batting in that top order is concerned,” said Simon Doull.
“He is unbelievable, Joe Root has an argument for that, when we talk about big four, at the moment he is the big one,” he added.
Babar is currently No.1 in T20 and ODI formats of ICC batting rankings and stand at No.4 in Test rankings. He is the only batsman in the World to rank in Top 5 of all the three formats.
Doull played 32 Tests in which he picked 98 wickets and represented Black Caps in 42 ODIs and took 36 wickets in the shorter format. Post-retirement, he has seen success as sports broadcaster.
