29th J&K football championship kicks off in Srinagar

Srinagar, Febuary 22: The 29th edition of annual J&K Football championship kicked off at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground Srinagar on Tuesday.

It is the first phase of the championship and involves Kashmir based District and zonal teams. The second phase and third phase of the event would be held in Jammu.

The event was inaugurated by Nuzhat Ara Divisional Sports Officer (K) who was the chief guest on the occasion.

The first match was played between DFA Zone Rafiabad and DFA Zone Hajin. The Hajin boys dominated the scene from the start of the match, defeating Zone Rafiabad by five goals to one.

The second match was played between DFA Kupwara X1 and DFA Pulwama XI. Both the teams played quality Football & Ist half ended goalless draw. In second half DFA Pulwama scored two goals and DFA Kupwara scored only one goal. The match was won by DFA Pulwama by two goals to one.

ZA Thakur, president JKFA, Iftikhar Lone, vice President JKFA , Fayaz AHMAD Sofi, President DFA Srinagar and other members of JKFA were also present on the occasion.
