Jammu, December 25: Abdul Samad fired an unbeaten 41-ball 96 runs to guide Ram Dayal XI to big win against Shubham Pundir XI in the first trial match on Friday at GGM Science College Ground, here.

Samad smashed as many as 9 sixes in his knock, proving how lethal he can get on crease.

Batting first, Pundir XI were restricted to a low total of 141/5 in the alloted 20 overs. Paras Sharma remained the top-scorer with 38 runs off 25 balls. Apart from him, Qamran Iqbal scored 35 (33) and Owais Shah 25 (16).

For bowling side, Yasir Ahmad and Javid Ganie took two wickets each.

In reply, Dayal XI, after chasing the total, were directed to continue to bat, so as all players get a chance. They made huge 185 runs with Samad scoring 96* and Sahil Lotra 20.

Amid this batting havoc, Amir Aziz was the lone bowler to survive. He bowled excellently, taking 2 wickets by giving away meagre 19 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Sunil Kumar also took a brace.
