Srinagar, Aug 29: Various Sports of Kashmir have assured their support to the newly elected Kashmir based officials of J&K Olympic Association.
J&K Olympic Association recently held its elections in Jammu in which J&K Football Association President Zamir Thakur was elected as senior Vice-president while as M Iqbal was elected as Joint Secretary.
The newly elected officials of Olympic Association held their meeting with representatives of various associations in Kashmir on August 26.
“All the Associations attend the meeting. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Zamir Thakur resently Elected as Sr. Vice President JKOA, while as M Iqbal was elected as Joint Secretary for kashmir wing. In an deliberations all the Associations announce there full Support with the Jk olympic Association for the upliftment of Sports in the J&k especially for Kashmir valley and hope under the dynamic personality of Ashutosh sharma (President JkOA) with his sensible team, a special opportunities will be created for the development of the sports, ” A statement issued said.
“Prof. Bashir and Abass Wani president WGAJK /ex MLA Tangmarg were also in the meeting. In his address M. Ashraf Dijoo (General Secretary Ice-skating & Ice Hockey Association of UT J&k) welcomed Zamir Thakur being Elected as Sr. Vice president of J&k Olympic Association and Iqbal as jt. Secy. for kashmir wing. And express the full confidence on the dynamic work of Zamir Thakur, who will really change the scenario of the Sports by getting a Special grants from the IOA and the Govt, for the development of the various sports, ” Statement said.
Zamir Thakur express the role of the J&K Olympic Association and assured that He will work out rightly for the promotion of various Sports in the valley and try to solve the various problems of the Associations, with full sports enthusiasm.
