‘Power Tussle’ between 2 Kashmir football groups turn ugly

Representative Picture

Srinagar, July 3: The conflict of opinions is part and parcel of every organisation and sports associations are not aloof to that. While one agrees with that there should be check and balance in every sports association but general opinion would always be that it should not turn ugly and personal.

One such war of words has started between two rival groups of Kashmir football who both seem to have gone too far ahead with personal and ugly attacks on each other through Social Media.

While in the confines of office such things seem to be normal but when they go into public domain it is where one should draw the line and should keep it as professional.

From some time now, a new football group namely National and International Footballers Forum (NIFF) which can be termed as rival group has emerged in J&K football. It is the group that includes former J&K Football Association ( JKFA) office bearers and some National and International footballers.

The group has been vocal against the activities of JKFA and have also highlighted various alleged scandals of JKFA.

Countering the allegations JKFA has accused the group of being biased and doing it for personal gains and not for football . JKFA has also countered the attacks of NIFF by alleging that members of the group have done discrepancies in the funds of State Football Academy.

NIFF in its number of statements had raised questions on the organisation of Mufti Memorial Football Tournament and Khelo India tournament by JKFA.

While raising questions is acceptable and one should give space to such issues but when personal attacks are made on each other through media it can be said that it is going out of hands.

Recently one member of NIFF had issued a stern warning through his official Facebook page warning an unnamed official of JKFA for posting something objectionable against his family.

Recently a top coach affiliated with NIFF is seen posting past records of Indian football team with the aim to question the credibility of former India Team captain who is associated with JKFA.

These are few notable personal attacks hurled by both factions at each other and one expects sports persons to act with the limits and show outmost maturity while dealing with such issues.

They are role models for youngsters and if they keep on doing such things what sort of message they will sending to them.
