Shadab Khan excited to be back in team after successful recovery from COVID-19

Srinagar, July 3: Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan has recovered from COVID-19 and is on way to Manchester from Lahore to join rest of the Pakistan squad in England.

Shadab along with other 10 players had tested positive for Coronavirus and were removed from the original squad. In the following two more tests conducted by Pakistan Cricket Board Shadab alongwith other five players tested negative for the virus. They were cleared to Tour England join rest of Pakistan squad in England after their two tests turned out negative.

The 21-year-old before leaving for England while speaking on Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) podcast, hailed cricket board in keeping him motivated during his recovery from the virus.

“I am very pleased after testing negative from COVID-19 twice. Parents got worried when I was tested positive,” Shadab said the Podcast.

“PCB motivated me throughout this time and I got a call from CEO Wasim Khan, he gave me confidence. PCB’s medical panel was in contact and helped me throughout,” he added.

Shadab was excited to see the second group of players with whom he traveled to Manchester to join the main squad.

“I arrived in Lahore and it was very pleasing to see the players. Team has already departed for England, however, I was still in touch with the Musa Khan, Faheem Ashraf and spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed.

Shadab along with five other players Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz departed for Manchester from Lahore on Thursday evening.
