After former India pacer and J&K mentor denied having knowledge of former West Indian skipper Daren Sammy getting racially abused during Indian Premier League, J&K Ranji Trophy skipper Parvez Rasool has also said that he is unaware of such thing.

“I never noticed anything like this. Sammy was my captain for one match during the season but he never told me anything like that, ” Parvez Rasool who was also part of Sunrisers Hyderabad was quoted by Indian Express.

Parvez said that Sunrisers had good team environment and Sammy was always in jovial mood.

“As a team, we had a very healthy environment and were a happy bunch of cricketers. Whenever I spoke to him he seemed very jovial and I enjoyed my time with him,” Parvez Rasool was quoted further.

Sammy, had recently alleged on his Instagram page that Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera and he were called ‘kalu’ during their Sunrisers days, also had made an appeal to the ICC and other cricket boards to support the fight against social injustice and racism.

Sammy had also mentioned that he was unaware what ‘Kallu’ meant and came to know about it recently.

Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had also said that it never received any complaint on such an issue during the IPL and Sammy should have brought the incident to light.

IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad is yet to respond on the matter.
