Despite being hammered to parks of the cornet at Edbaston today by English openers Australian Pacer Mitchell Starc was able to get one wicket needed to break the World Cup record for most wickets.
With his removal of Bairstow, Mitchell Starc raised his wicket tally at cricket World Cup 2019 to 27. No bowler has taken more at one Men’s World Cup. He broke the 26 wickets record set by Glen McGrath in 2007. Chaminda Vaas with 23 in 2003 World Cup is at Number 3 while as Muthia Murlitharan with 23 in World Cup 2007 is joint Number 3. Shaun Tait with 23 in Cricket World Cup 2007 is also at Number 3.
