Sanjay Manjrekar ‘blocks’ Michael Vaughan on Twitter over Jadeja Bits & Pieces banter

The twitter banter between former two cricketers turned commentators seem to have gone as the former England great Michael Vaughan says that former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has blocked him on twitter.

Vaughan tweeted this during the World Cup 2019 semifinal between India and New Zealand that Manjrekar has blocked him on Twitter.

Vaughan jumped in with his views following Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja slamming Manjrekar, saying the player-turned-commentator should “learn to respect people”. Jadeja did not specify the context, but Manjrekar has been vocal about the all-rounder’s chances of making it Team India’s playing XI in the ongoing World Cup 2019.

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.

With Jadeja breaching the defence of New Zealand’s Henry Nicholls in the ongoing semifinal on Tuesday at Old Trafford, Manchester, Vaughan took to Twitter saying, “Bloody hell Bits and Piece can spin it.”

A while later, Vaughan tweeted, “BREAKING NEWS.. I have been blocked by @sanjaymanjrekar.. !!”

In the days leading up to the semifinal, Vaughan had engaged with with Manjrekar on Twitter on the latter’s probable Indian line-up against the Kiwis, which included Jadeja.

“I see you have picked the bits and pieces cricketer,” tweeted Vaughan, to which Manjrekar pointed out “‘predicted’ my dear Vaughan.. not ‘my’ team.”
