The ‘Hitman’ of International cricket , India’s Rohit Sharma is on record breaking in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and on July 2 in a match against Bangladesh broke another couple of records while reaching to his century.

Rohit Sharma slammed his fourth century in World Cup 2019 during India’s match against Bangladesh in Birmingham. In the process he equalled Sri Lankan, Kumar Sangakkara’s record of 4 hundreds in a single World Cup, which the former Sri Lankan captain had scored in the 2015 edition.

Before getting to his century, Rohit surpassed David Warner (516) and Aaron Finch (504) for most runs in the ongoing World Cup. Previously, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 500-plus runs in two editions — 673 in 2003 and 523 in 1996.

Tendulkar has most number of hundreds (six) in World Cups and now Rohit after scoring five hundreds has equalled Sangakkara and Ricky Ponting.

Rohit also leapfrogged Mohammed Azharuddin, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid for most runs by Indian batsmen in World Cup history. In this list, only Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly and Tendulkar are ahead of him.
