Chinar Tourney: Nasir Lone’s unbeaten hundred leads BCC to big win

Handwara, May 1: A special knock of 109* runs by Nasir Lone on Wednesday led Bandipora Cricket Club to a big win over Wadipora Cricket Club at Baki-Aker Handwara in the Chinar cricket tournament.

Batting first, BCC got off to a flying start with Ishtiyaq Elahi sending the balls to the pavilion quite regularly. The swashbuckling opener made quickfire 48 runs off 23 balls before he was trapped leg-before by Fayaz Ahmad.

Later, Nasir Lone joined the party and he didn’t stop till the finish of innings. The right-handed batsman sent eight balls out of the boundary while punched 6 fours as well to score a tremendous knock of 109 runs.
Apart from him, Aqib Bhat played a fiery cameo of 23 runs in 7 balls to take BCC to a mammoth total of 229 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Wadipora never looked in the game. They kept losing wickets on regular intervals and lastly, made meager 117/9 in 20 overs, hence handing BCCI a big win of 112 runs.

Nasir again shone with the ball as he picked a couple of wickets. Urooj and Azhar Amin also chipped in with a brace each.

Nasir for his match-winning performance earned the man of the match award.
