Rasikh Salam joins J&K T20 squad ahead of the first match

The J&K’s recent Indian Premier League (IPL) recruit, Rasikh Salam joined senior T20 squad in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the first match, scheduled to take place on Thursday.

Earlier, reports suggested that Rasikh hasn’t been picked for the team, however, officials on Wednesday cleared that he has joined the squad directly from Mumbai, where he was attending a fitness camp.

The teenager pacer was bought by Mumbai Indians in IPL Auctions, becoming third J&K cricketer to feature the cash-rich league after Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Dar.

Denying the reports of Rasikh’s absence in the team, a top source in JKCA confirmed, “No, it was a wrong piece of information. How can a player who is in IPL team not play for his state team? He is in the squad and has joined the team,” it said.

Meanwhile, J&K will lock horns with Nagaland on Thursday to kickstart their campaign of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
