The senior cricket star of J&K, Abid Nabi again proved his mettle on Monday as he singlehandedly guided Team-D to a hard fought win against Team-A in the match of JKCA trials at GGM Science College Jammu.
It required blistering knock of 66 from 33 balls from Abid Nabi to post a respectable total on board against a star studded bowling lineup of Team-A. After getting stable start owing to Sahil Shafi who scored 39 runs, Team-D found themselves in trouble as wickets kept falling one after another.
Then the arrival of Abid Nabi in middle at number 7 changed everything. Finding his touch with bat back, Abid Nabi smashed the bowlers like Waseem Raza, Mujtaba Rizvi and Zahoor Sofi to take his team to 136/9 in 20 overs. Abid Nabi scored 66 from 33 balls in which he hit 5 sixes and four boundaries. For Team-A, Waseem Raza took four wickets while as Mujtaba Rizvi took three. Zahoor Sofi took one.
In reply, Team-A were able to score only 130/9 in allotted overs as Team-D bowlers never allowed them to run lose.
For them, Adil Reshi scored 29, Omar Nissar 33 and Waseem Raza 12. For Team-D, Feroze Ahmad took three wickets while as Paras Sharma took two. Abid Nabi again was centre of the Team-D charge as he took two wickets in his four over quota giving away only 16 runs. Omar Aalam chipped in with one wicket.
