Jammu and Kashmir government announced the winners of State Awards for the year 2018. The ceremony in which outstanding persons from the field of art, literature, sports and other disciplines are felicitated takes place on January 26 every year.
This year, 13 sportspersons have been nominated to receive the award for their success in multiple sports. They will be rewarded with the cash price of 51,000 INR and a medal on Saturday at Sher-I-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar.
The awardees include, cricket progidy, Rasikh Salam, star footballer, Danish Farooq, fighter, Farheen Fayaz, cyclist, Bilal Ahmad Dar, women cricketer, Jasia Akhtar, Volleyball and Rollball players, Saqlain Tariq and Hiteshwar Singh, Gymnast, Balveen Kour, Mountaineer, Nirmal Kumar, Fencing player, Shreya Gupta, Deaf cricketer, Ummar Ashraf, Para-sports player, Chandeep Singh and Women’s Ice Hockey team Leh.
