The 54 run not out knock of Rubia Syed went in vain as J&K were defeated by Assam in the match of senior women’s one-day league tournament at Cuttack.
Trying to chase target of 160 runs scored by Assam J&K got all out for 105 runs. More than half runs of J&K’s total were scored by Rubia who remained not out on 54. She scored her runs from 77 balls in which she smashed 5 fours and 2 sixes. It was lack of partners at other end that hindered Rubia from winning match for J&K. that would have been first as J&K is yet to taste win in the tournament this season.
Earlier Assam scored 160/9 in 50 overs. Anita Lodhi top scored for them with 68, Rashmi Dey with 28*. For J&K Bisma Hassan took 3 wickets . Rubia, Asra, Neha and Sandya took 1 wkt each.
