Real Kashmir Football Club has requested All India Football Federation (AIFF) to defer the next two I-League games in view of the stadium capacity concerns and prevailing situation in Kashmir valley.
Sources in the club said that a request in this regard has already been made to I-League organizers and a decision in this regard is expected soon.
The club as per sources has expressed its reluctance to host the next two games after serious concerns over the crowd capacity and safety at the TRC Astroturf. The seating at the TRC is based on metal structures and more than capacity crowd turning up renders it unsafe.
“Yes, we have conveyed to AIFF our concerns and are waiting for their decision. Beyond a point it’s not in our hands. We have requested I-League organizers that the next two matches be deferred”, a senior functionary at Real Kashmir FC said.
Real Kashmir are currently on fifth position and are scheduled to play Aizwal FC and Shillong Lajong FC on December 5 and 11 respectively.
