While J&K were celebrating its 8-wicket win against Tripura its star cricketer, Irfan Pathan did something that has won everyone’s heart.
J&K defeated Tripura by 8-wickets in the Ranji Trophy match at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar on Friday. It was first Ranji trophy win for J&K this season that too in front of home fans that turned in decent numbers.
At the end of the match while everyone from team members to fans were enjoying the winning moment, Irfan did something that showed once again his humility and down to earth nature through which he has been working with JK cricketers.
First when the group photographs were been taken, he invited grounds men to join them and took team pictures with them. It was the first gesture that was praised by everyone in the field. As it was not enough, Pathan in praise of the work done by grounds man warded them cash of rupees 25, 000 out from his own pocket. It was the gesture that he didn’t boost in public but it did come into notice of everyone there.
Since having arrived in Kashmir, Pathan has been working with youngsters. Though his primarily role was mentor cum player of senior team he has been developing the cricket at grass root level in J&K.
