Hosts Saurashtra completely outplayed J&K as they earned a crushing, an inning and 87 run win in the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy match at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot on Thursday.
After Saurashtra ended their first inning on 553 runs in response to J&K’s first inning total of 327 runs, visitors J&K were bundled out in the second innings for 139 runs, losing match by an inning and 87 runs. It was a complete batting failure from J&K side on the last day of the match.
Earlier J&K started its second innings on Thursday morning as Saurashtra got all out at the end of third day’s play. J&K openers Qamran Iqbal and Abdul Samad put a solid stand of 67 runs for the first wicket. Qamran Iqbal was the first wicket to fall after scoring 36 runs. The next in batsman JiyaadNazirMagrey got out after scoring only one run. Abdul Samad was third wicket to fall after scoring 44 runs. It was the start of the procession as J&K inning bundled out for 139 runs. For Saurashtra, DevDand and Rahul took three wickets each.
Earlier Saurashtra posted a huge total of 553 runs on board in their first inning in reply to J&K first inning total. They earned a massive first inning lead of 226 runs. For them, SidhantRana scored 133 run knock while as Rishi Patle scored 117. Opener ARathod missed ton by two runs as he got out after scoring 98 while as HS Kodak scored 71. For J&K, Vivrant Sharma took four wickets while as Govind Sharma took three. Rasikh Salam took two wickets.
J&K in their first inning had scored 327 runs. Vivrant Sharma with 77 runs was highest scorer while as Abdul Samad scored 72. KanhaiyaWadhwan scored 51 while as Mujtaba Yusuf 42. For SaurashtraYuvrajsinhShinol took three wickets and Rishi Patel two.
