The lower order valuable contributions from Waseem Raza and Amir Aziz after a brilliant ton of 136 runs by Ahmad Banday and 85 run-knock by Irfan Pathan, enabled J&K to post 442 runs total on board in first inning against Tripura at Srinagar Stadium on Wednesday.
At the end of second days play, Tripura were on 11/0 in the second inning, still trailing J&K by 307 runs. Earlier J&K with the help of Ahmad Banday 136 run ton and Irfan Pathan’s 85 run knock posted 442 runs on board. After the fall of Banday and Pathan, Waseem raza scored 45 and Amir Aziz 48 in lower order to push J&K to a total of 442 runs. J&K ended its inning with a massive first inning lead of 318 runs.
Earlier Ahmad Banday got out after scoring a brilliant ton of 136 run knock to carry J&K inning forward. After being retired hurt on Tuesday Banday restarted his inning on Wednesday after the fall of Ian Dev Singh. He went on to score a brilliant ton of 136 runs before getting out. He faced 228 balls and hit 18 fours and 1 six in the process.
J&K had started day on 154/1 and lost Ian Dev early in the day. He scored 27. Pathan then was joined by Banday in the middle. Pathan started to play aggressively and duo formed 86 run stand between them. Pathan missed his ton by 15-runs as he got stump on the bowling of SS Ghosh. He hit 10 fours and 2 sixes before getting out. Parvez Rasool joined Banday in the middle. He got out after adding 42 runs with Banday. He was clean bowled by Harmeet Singh for 13 runs. In-between, Ahmad Banday completed his brilliant ton of 167 balls. Just before the lunch, Paras Sharma.
