All J&K Sports Association of the Deaf organized athletic meet ‘7th J&K State Silent Games of the Deaf-2018’ in collaboration with the J&K State Sports Council and J&K Police at Gindun Stadium Rajbagh here from November 15, concluded on Saturday.
In the event, hundreds of the physically challenged youth (Deaf and Dumb) participated in sports disciplines like Javelin Throw, Discuss Throw, Shot Put, l00 meter race, 200 -meter race, chess etc.
In junior Chess, Ayman, Jasmeena and Ifla bagged first three positions while as in discuss throw, Zakir, Mehran and Showkat bagged first three positions respectively.
In junior 100-metre sprint, Shariq, Rakesh and Mohammad Ashraf finished first, second and third respectively while as in junior badminton singles, Ifla Syed bagged first place and Subby Jan second.
In junior Shot Put, Shahid, Shariq and Yawar bagged first three positions respectively while as in junior Javelin, Yawar, Arif and Salman bagged first three positions respectively.
In junior 200-metre sprint, Zakir, Mohammad Ashraf and Rakesh finished first, second and third respectively.
In junior badminton doubles, team of Irtiza and Ayman defeated team of Jasmeena and Simran.
In senior Javelin, Aquib Gull, Munaqib and Sameer Darbagged first three positions while as in senior discuss throw, Aquib Gull, Adil and Bilal bagged first three places respectively.
In senior 100-metre sprint, Vishal Khajuria, Munaqib and Bilal finished first, second and third respectively while as in senior 400-metre sprint, Vishal Khajuria, Aquib Gull and Anamullah finished first, second and third respectively.
In senior singles badminton, Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Mudasir Bashir and Tajamal Islam bagged first three positions respectively. In senior shot put, Anamullah Rather, Vishal Khajuria and Rohan Kumar bagged first three places respectively.
In junior chess boys category, Mehreen and Arif bagged first two positions respectively while as in senior 200-metre sprint, Anamullah Rather, Ashish and Basit Padder finished first, second and third respectively.
In senior chess, Umar Qadir, Anamullah, and Amir Fareed bagged first three positions respectively.
In volleyball, Budgam emerged as the winner while as Anantnag team were the runner-ups.
Prize distribution ceremony was held at Gindun stadium during which Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Abdul Salam Mir, SP City South Dr. GV Sundeep Chakravarthy and SDPO Sadder Sudhanshu Verma were guests.
