With football pundits criticising the tactics of the Real Kashmir FC after the defeat against Neroca FC, the Scottish coach of the Kashmir-based side David Robertson said he will continue to employ same tactics in coming games as he believes in his philosophy. Robertson’s tactics were largely questioned in the post-match press briefing.
“Critics can say and do whatever they like. But they should understand that it is me who got Real Kashmir into I-League, it is me who won them second division I-League and during all this time we employed same tactics – my tactics. If anyone has problem with that I don’t care, and I will keep on believing in my tactics and philosophy,” he said.
“It is time when we need to focus on and bounce back strongly. If we go on like this for four more game then you can have my head and question me,” he further said.
About today’s match he said, “It is not disappointing, rather frustrating to see your team playing so well and still ending up on the losing side. Sometime your team plays so bad and still end up winning and sometimes they play well and end up losing. Today was one such game where we played really well and I am proud of my boys”.
He said that his side is flexible enough with around five players who can play at different positions.
“When we saw that we are not able to sneak in, we changed things. Mason and Bazou got up and we created problems for them. Unfortunately we failed to be clinical in finish and that cost us game. These are crucial three home points and fans must be disappointed as well,” he said.
“It is after around one year that Real Kashmir suffered a defeat. We remained unbeaten in our triumphant second division league campaign and got unbeaten start to I-League. It must be frustrating for everyone to see Real Kashmir not winning at home and the streak finally broken. We will regroup and comeback strongly,” he said.
