The final of the Inter-College cricket tournament was played at University of Kashmir on October 6.
In inter-college cricket men tournament Gandhi college defeated GDC Bandipora by 123 runs. After losing the toss Gandhi Memorial College were put in to bat. They managed to score 255 runs in allotted 40 overs. Amir, Asif Jeelani and Adil Reshi scored 60, 51 and 48 runs respectively. Tajamul took 2 wickets for Bandipora .
While chasing the target of 256 runs GDC Bandipora were bundled out for 133 runs. Arif and Tajamul were top scorers with 29 and 20 runs respectively. From Gandhi Memorial College Imtiyaz took 4-wickets and Adil Reshi took 3 wickets.
The coordinator of Directorate of physical education and sports Dr.Nisar Ahmed Khan was the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the participants. Addressing the gathering Dr. Nisar Ahmad congratulated both the teams for making it to the finals and was delighted to witness such a evenly contested final match in which at the end Islamia College emerged victorious, he mentioned.
