Vijay Hazare Trophy: J&K team leaves for Chennai

Amid resignation of the all the members of the selection committee, J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) has deputed the same squad for the Vijay Hazare One–Day tournament that was earlier shortlisted by the selectors.
After the resignation of two Jammu based selectors, the two remaining selectors, SP Qaiser and Zahoor Bhat have also tendered their resignation, leaving JKCA without its senior selection committee.JK in andhra Pradesh (1)
With J&K set to play its opening match against Bengal on September 20 in Chennai, JKCA was left with no option but to depute the team of probable players shortlisted by selectors earlier for the Andhra Pradesh tour. The only addition to the team is star cricketer Parvez Rasool who would be joining J&K team after playing for India Reds in Duleep Trophy. The team is going to leave from Srinagar on Monday.
“It has been decided to depute same players who were earlier shortlisted by the selectors. As there are no selectors available and also due to their ineligibility owing to Supreme Court ruling, JKCA has gone ahead with the same team. The team comprise of almost all the top performers of State and will also be having Irfan Pathan with them as player cum mentor,” JKCA official said.

The team left from Srinagar on Monday afternoon.
