After arriving in Leh Ladakh, on 29th of August it seemed cricket was impossible given the conditions, lack of cricketing infrastructure and non-availability of grounds.
Finally with the support of department of Youth Services and Sports, we were able to conduct the tournament and initially 15 teams were nominated by the YS&S department but being a tourist destination and flow of tourists on its peak only 9 teams confirmed their entry and turned up for the event.
After watching the whole tournament we shortlisted only 26 boys who performed well in the tournament and were later called for 2 day camp which was conducted on 4th and 5th of September. Among the 26 shortlisted, we selected 5 boys for national trails to be conducted in JKCA Stadium Sonwar, Srinagar for various age groups, who have the capability to represent the state at various categories. It is also worth to mention the name of one exceptionally talented boy namely Tsering Stobgyal who has got all the potential to represent U-19 state team.
