J&K had to face rough weather for the second time in two days in the ACA Sir Vizzy Trophy 2018-19 at Mvgr College Ground, Vizianagaram-Andhra Pradesh as their match against IOCL was abandoned on Friday.
After having been denied of a victory against Railways on Thursday by bad weather, J&K were on driver’s seat in a match against IOCL when rain interrupted the play. J&K were on 53 for the loss of one wicket in 9.2 overs in pursuit of a 194 run target set by IOCL. Earlier on Thursday, Railways were declared winner against J&K by 17 runs through VJD rain rule.
Hoping to register its first win in the pre-season preparation tournament, J&K went into match with one change. Umar Nazir replaced Mohammad Mudhasir. Batting first IOCL got all out for 194 runs in 34 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 70 run knock for them while as Aditya Tare scored 50. For J&K Umar Nazir was pick of the bowlers taking three wickets. He was also involved in one run out. Amir Aziz and Manzoor Dar took two wickets each while as Ram Dayal and Shubham Khajuria took one each.
In reply J&K didn’t got off to a ideal start as opener Asif Khan got out without opening his account. After that Ahmad Banday was joined in the middle by Shubham Khajuria. Both ensured that no more wicket falls in the inning. When rain interrupted play, J&K were on 53 for the loss of one wicket in 9.2 overs. Banday was batting on 17 while as Khajuria was batting on 31. J&K needed 141 runs to win with nine wickets in hand. J&K is scheduled to play Mumbai in next match.
