Bijbehara: Amar Singh College Srinagar won the 1st Chinar Inter College Badminton Tournament(Men) 2018, at Govt. Degree College Bijbehara.
Today In the final Amar Singh College Srinagar defeated Govt. Degree College Bemina Srinagar by 2-1. Tournament was organized by the Govt. Degree College Bijbehara. The tournament saw an overwhelming participation of 10 colleges from the Kashmir Valley.
The Principal GDC Bijbehara Prof. Nazir Ahmad Chirag was the chief guest on the occasion, While addressing the gathering, He congratulated both the teams for making it to the final of the tournament particularly the winning team. He said that our college would always facilitate the Sports persons and teams in future events to be conducted in the college indoor hall. He also assured the gathering that college is committed to flourish the indoor activities in the college and will always be vibrant for the promotion of sports and development of sports culture among state colleges. Lastly Principal Lauded the efforts of faculty members of Department of Physical Education of College for being very vibrant in making the tournament a grand success. He also thanked the Principals of all the participating colleges, Physical Directors and officials of the tournament for making the event a grand success. Besides him, College Sports Convener Dr. Sofi Mohammad Zuber and Physical Director, Amar Singh College Srinagar Mushir ul Islam also addressed the gathering. On the award ceremony of final match, the Principal along with other faculty members gave away the trophies and merit certificated to Winning as well as losing team.The proceedings of the award ceremony was carried out by Dr. Riyaz Veeri, the Physical Training Instructor of the College, which ended with vote of thanks presented by Dr. Satinder Singh (Lecturer Economics). The tournament was organised by the Physical Education and Sports Department of the college.
