Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday submitted bail bond of Rs 50,000 in the multi-crore J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) scam before a local court today.
Farooq Abdullah appeared before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar Ajaz Ahmad Khan at around 4:20 pm and furnished the Rs 50,000 bail bond and the surety bond of an equal amount in compliance to court directions dated July 20.
National conference leader Nasir Sogami stood as surety for Abdullah.
Meanwhile, the court exempted Farooq Abdullah from personal appearance till further orders after considering his application he had moved through his counsel, Ishtiaq Khan,
“Farooq Abdullah is old and ailing and has undergone surgery. He is receiving post surgery treatment and the doctors concerned have advised him to avoid physical movement of any kind,” advocate Khan pleaded on behalf of Abdullah.
Seeking Abdullah’s exemption from personal appearance, advocate Khan submitted in the court that the applicant shall be available in the court as and when directed by it.
The court listed the case for further consideration on August 29.
