I am in Kashmir to work at ground level: Irfan Pathan

J&K’s Baroda based mentor cum player, Irfan Pathan on Thursday said that he is not in Kashmir to enjoy scenic beauty but to make a difference by working at the ground level.irf2

“I have arrived in Kashmir four months before the start of the season, not to enjoy beautiful surroundings but to make a difference by working at ground level with local cricketers,” Pathan told reporters on the sidelines of the talent hunt that started at Sheri-Kashmir Stadium here on Thursday.

He said that he hold more such camps for the local talent. “I had an option of just to play for senior team but I chose mentor role as well. I could have just stayed as a mentor of senior cricketers but that wouldn’t have helped much in the development of J&K cricket. By working with youngsters I can be  part of the change. Even if I am able to produce a single quality cricketer I will think I have succeeded in my mission,” he added.
