In a shocking selection process done by the allegedly tainted selectors of J&K Cricket Association, the senior women selection list of Kashmir Province excludes the top performers.
In the selection process 17 cricketers participated and on Thursday JKCA selectors Sakeena Akhtar of Kashmir University and Bilal Shamis, Physical Teacher of DYSS announced 8-member team.
Ironically team excludes some of the top performers of the practice matches held by the selectors to shortlist players. Instead they have allegedly included those players who hardly even attended trials.
“These selectors have chosen those players who are not even close to being selected. They are known for being partial and corrupt and this time they did exactly what is there image,” said a player.
“The selection list excludes players who did well in the trials and the practice matches while as it include those who hardly attended trials,” she added.
Another player said that wicketkeeper who has been selected in the team was not regular in trials and did nothing in practice matches.
“Trials are meant to give players a chance to prove their talent and get noticed. However in this selection a wicketkeeper who has been selected even did not attended trails and failed in practice matches,” another player said.
“Another wicketkeeper who did attend trials did well in the practice matches and was regular in selection process. She has been sidelined. Same is case with other players. There should be proper enquiry into the selection process and players should get justice,” she added.
