Srinagar, April 2: Real Kashmir FC’s difficult run in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025–26 season continued as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Diamond Harbour FC at the TRC Ground on Thursday.
With this result, Real Kashmir remain winless after six matches, registering four defeats and two draws. The club now sits at the bottom of the points table with just two points — marking one of the poorest starts in the club’s history.
Diamond Harbour FC, on the other hand, climbed to the top of the standings with 13 points from six matches.
Real Kashmir started brightly, dominating possession in the early stages and creating multiple chances. Players like Rohen Singh, Oinam Sanatomba Singh, and Ahteeb Ahmad Dar looked promising, but the hosts failed to convert their opportunities.
As the first half progressed, Diamond Harbour FC gradually found their rhythm, with Bryce Miranda and Antonio Moyano becoming increasingly influential. Despite efforts from both sides, the first half ended goalless.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Bryce Miranda made a driving run down the left flank and squared the ball to Hugo Diaz, who calmly slotted it home.
Real Kashmir responded strongly and equalised in the 67th minute. Basit Ahmed Bhat delivered a precise cross from the right, which Junior Traore met with a diving header to make it 1-1.
The match opened up thereafter, with both teams pushing for a winner. Goalkeepers Furkan Ahmed Dar and Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem made crucial saves to keep their sides in contention.
However, Diamond Harbour FC sealed the victory late in the game when substitute Sunday Kolawole scored with a decisive header, securing all three points for the visitors.
Season Struggles Continue
Real Kashmir’s inability to close out matches and convert chances continues to hurt them. With only three matches remaining, the club finds itself in a precarious position, battling to avoid finishing at the bottom.
