Srinagar: It is now official as the 5th edition of Khelo India Winter Games-2025 have been posponed due to insufficient snowfall at Gulmarg.
After initially holding back postponement, J&K Sports Council and SAI on Monday made it official.”The 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games, initially set for February 22-25, 2025, has been postponed due to insufficient snowfall. A new assessment will be conducted once snow conditions improve, and the revised update will be announced accordingly,” J&K Sports Council statement read.
The 5th Edition of KIWG was scheduled to be held in Gulmarg from February 22-25.
Earlier WGAJK in its statement on Sunday whch now stands retracted had said that Games have been postponed till First Week of March.
“We regret to inform you that khelo india winter games 2025 originally scheduled for 22 to 25 Feb 2025, has been postponed, The event will now take place on Ist week of March 2025 , at Gulmarg . We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.And new date for screening of athletes will be announced soon,” Winter Games Association of JK statement now removed had said.
