The first indoor inter house badminton tournament was today inaugurated in Govt. Degree College Bijbehara.
Tournament was inaugurated by Senior Professor of the college Nazir Ahmad Malla along with the other faculty members of the college.
While speaking on the inaugural ceremony Prof. Nazir Ahmad Malla said that it is the biggest asset of our college that we have indoor Badminton Hall and is probably the first ever sports Indoor hall of South Kashmir.
He stressed students to be engaged with the game and get the benefit of the facility available in the college. On the opening ceremony the faculty members who were present includes Prof. Firdous Ahmad Itoo, Prof. Mohammad Rafiq Guroo, Prof. Mehraj Ahmad Bhat, Prof. Burhan Ahad, Prof. Bilal Ahmad Parrey and Dr. Riyaz Veeri, the Physical Training Instructor of the college.
Inaugural match was played between Green House and Blue House, in which Green House emerged as winner by 2-0. The Tournament is played in the newly built Badminton Indoor Hall of the college, in which a total number of 8 Houses (teams) are participating. The Tournament is organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the college.
